Shae Leviston
The Butterfly Collector is the online alias, business and playground of Artist and Jewellery Designer Shae Leviston.
Shae is a self taught, intuitive artist and loves to create work that inspires in colour, in mystery and the imagination.
She is inspired constantly by wandering down side streets, visiting small towns, peering into secret gardens and walking the river and beaches close to her home. She loves to capture the impressions of light and colour shimmering on leaves, plants and flowers.
Shae creates original paintings, jewellery, murals, illustrations for books, posters, graphics, art prints, craft and paper kits and colouring books.
She currently has fairytale book inspired artwork you need to get lost to find installed inside the Barrabool Estate Maze.
Shae is currently the Art Tutor at an innovative, holistic Kindergarten by the seaside encouraging children to explore their creativity and develop their fine motor skills. Over the past 12 years has taught Painting and Drawing in a primary school and runs her own private classes and workshops for adults and children. She believes we are all born with bursting curious creativity that tends to get lost along the way if its not nurtured and practiced.
She has a background in art, fashion illustration, retail and visual merchandising. She has loved to paint and draw and create since the first day she could hold a crayon in her hand.
Shae lives in a bay side town near Melbourne in Australia with her two beautiful teenage boys!
